The Academy of the Wolf
The Academy of the Wolf is a live action, hands-on and display group bringing the world of "The Witcher" to life at festivals and events across the UK.
Who Are The Academy of the Wolf?
Imagine walking through a gateway into the fantasy world of "The Witcher". You can learn to fight with a sword, brew a magical potion or lose your shirt playing a game of cards unlike anything you've ever done outside a computer game.
You can smell woodsmoke from the cooking fire, and hear the sounds of a bard singing in the background, whilst a werewolf growls gently behind his trapping station.

What Can We Offer?
With a cast of 14 players, instructors and cast members, The Academy can offer a selection of set-ups for any event.
Activities can be booked individually, or all together for the full Academy experience.
We offer:
1. FIGHT TRAINING. Our fully qualified swordmaster and his team will take groups through the basics of functional sword-fighting using combat-safe weapons and training pells. (This element requires either open space, or very high ceilings and a lot of room.)
2. POTION MAKING. Groups are introduced to the basics of Witcher alchemy by real life scientist and witch, Mistress Persephone. She and her team then instruct and supervise participants who will make a potion themselves, ending up with a costume prop to keep. Mistress Persephone is available to talk through the unusual items in her apothecary cabinet.
3. GWENT. The Gwentleman teaches the game from first principles, which is very suitable for those who have never played before. This element encourages roleplaying and character immersion.
4. FANTASY VILLAGE. Consisting of a variety of tents, props, open fires, cooking demonstrations, tracking displays and more, this is the most immersive element and is packaged together with the other three elements to provide the total Witcher experience. This element is not available for indoor events.n.b.
